Door Shortcuts

Door shortcuts link your video security and access control systems. Place a shortcut icon over any door in a camera frame to give operators an on-hover view of the door’s live status, associated video, and real-time events. This delivers immediate situational awareness and speeds up investigations by bringing door information directly into the camera view.

Configuration

In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

Select the camera you want to edit.

From the sidebar to the right of the camera feed, select Camera Overlays > Shortcuts > Setup.

Select a point on the camera’s view where you want to place the shortcut.

a. Select Add Door.

b. Choose your door from the list. c. Select which of the door’s context cameras to display in the shortcut’s hover-over view.

Note: Choose No Camera if you want the shortcut to display only the door’s status and events.

After placing a shortcut, you can adjust its position or add additional shortcuts to the view.

Door shortcuts

After you create a door shortcut, it appears as an icon overlaid on the camera feed. You can use this shortcut to view information or take quick actions. Functionality differs slightly between live and historical views.

View a door shortcut

In any camera view, hover your mouse over a door shortcut icon to open a preview panel. From this panel, you can:

• Click the door icon to open the door’s main page and view its full event history.

• View key information at a glance:

  • Door status: Online or offline

  • Door state: Open or closed

  • Context camera: Associated video feed

  • Recent events: Up to three events from the past minute

Remote unlock (live and grid views)

In a live camera feed or a grid view, click the lock icon in the shortcut panel to remotely unlock the door.

Shortcuts in history player

When reviewing recorded video in the history player, the shortcut functions are adjusted for investigations:

• Remote unlock is not available.

• The context camera feed and event list in the preview panel show historical data, synchronized to the timestamp you are viewing.
