# Access Control

**Overview**\
Verkada Access Control is a cloud-managed door security system that gives you centralized control over who can enter your buildings. The platform combines door controllers, readers, and credential management with a single interface in Command. You can manage users, monitor door activity, and review access events from any location without relying on local servers or fragmented hardware systems.

This collection covers how to install and wire door controllers and readers, configure access permissions, manage credentials, review activity logs, and respond to access-related events. It also explains how Access Control works alongside other Verkada products so you can create a unified approach to building security.
