Sharing Video
This page shows you how to quickly share video footage with the right people. It walks through sending archives, granting someone access to multiple cameras simultaneously, and sharing a live stream without exposing unnecessary information. Each option keeps you in control of what others can see and for how long, so you can move fast and stay secure.
Share archives (via browser)
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.
On the left navigation, click Archives.
Select any archive, then click Share.
Share via SMS and email
Enter a phone number, email address, or contact name.
(Optional) You can add as many additional recipients as you need.
Click Access to view and download video or Access to view archived video only to grant the recipient access to the link. See note below.
Set when the Link expires. By default, this is set to one (1) hour.
Click Send Link to send a link to the camera.
Share via direct link
Click Access to view and download video or Access to view archived video only to grant the recipient access to the link. See note below.
Set when the Link expires. By default, this is set to one (1) hour.
At the bottom left, click More options > Copy Link.
You can now share the link.
Granting download video access lets the recipient download an .mp4 of the archive.
Manage links (via browser)
If you need to change the settings of an existing link share, use the Manage Links option (located at the bottom left).
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Admin.
On Org Settings, click Manage Links to manage all the share links and embeds in your organization.
Choose SMS, Email, or Link. Learn more about SMS, link, or embed options.
Share archives (via Verkada mobile app)
Open the Verkada mobile app.
Go to Cameras > Archives.
Tap the archive you want to share.

Tap Share below the clip and follow the steps.
Share via contacts
Tap Verkada Contacts.
Add a contact and select all contacts you want to share with.
(Optional) Tap Link Expires in.
Click Access to view and download video or Access to view archived video only to grant the recipient access to the link. See note below.
Tap Send.
Share via direct link
Tap Shareable Link.
(Optional) Tap Link Expires in.
Click Access to view and download video or Access to view archived video only to grant the recipient access to the link. See note below.
Tap Send link to to copy the link or send it to a recipient in your phone’s contact list.
Granting all video and features access lets the recipient view historical footage, conduct motion searches, search for people and vehicles in frame, and view camera statistics and settings.
Share a camera’s live stream (using your browser)
Link sharing offers Site Admins a method to share a camera’s live stream with others without needing to create a new user account. You can share a camera live stream via SMS, link, or embed on a website.
Anyone with access to the URL link can share a video and features.
Share via SMS and email
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras, then select a camera site.
Click Shareand agree to the video sharing terms.
Enter a phone number, email, or contact name, and press Enter.
Choose to grant access to All video and features or Live video only (default).
Set the duration when to expire access.
Click Send Link.
Share via direct link
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras, then select a camera site.
Click Share and agree to the video sharing terms.
Enter a phone number, email, or contact name, and press Enter.
Choose to grant access to All video and features or Live video only (default).
Set the duration when to expire access.
On Share Camera, click More options > Copy Link, then share link as you want.
When you grant all video and features access, you allow the recipient to view historical footage, conduct motion searches, search for people and vehicles in the frame, and view camera statistics and settings.
Manage links (using your browser)

In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras, then select a camera site.
Click Share and agree to the video sharing terms.
Enter a phone number, email, or contact name, and press Enter.
Choose to grant access to All video and features or Live video only (default).
Set the duration when to expire access.
On Share Camera, click More options > Manage Links.
You can also go to All Products > Admin > Org Settings > Manage Shared Links.
Manage link options
When you hover over a link you want to manage, you can:
Copy Link—Copy the link to your system clipboard.
Edit—Change the link expiration.
Revoke Access—Immediately expire the link.
Embed code
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras, then select a camera site.
Click Share and agree to the video sharing terms.
Enter a phone number, email, or contact name, and press Enter.
Choose to grant access to All video and features or Live video only (default).
Set the duration when to expire access.
Click More options > Embed Code.
Enter the domain name and click Embed Link.
For privacy and security, the generated embed code works only specified domain names.
Share a camera’s live stream (using your mobile app)
On the camera that you want to share, at the top right, tap … to view Share.
Choose Verkada Contact or Sharable Link.
a. If you choose Verkada Contacts, add a contact. b. If you choose Sharable Link, proceed to step 4.
(Optional) Set Link Expires in.
Choose to grant Access to all video and features or Access to only live video.
a. If you are sending to a Verkada Contact, tap Send. b. If using Send link to, choose the share method (email, copy to clipboard, and so on) from the available options.
Share sites and subsites
In Command, go to All Products > Cameras.
Hover over the site you want to share and click the kebab (3 vertical dots) icon.
Select Share Site.
From here, you can send a link to an email address, phone number, or you can click More options to Copy Link to manually get a link.
On Share Camera Site, select the Access to and duration settings.
The recipient receives a link that redirects them to the site view for the shared site. The recipient can click each camera feed to see the live feed and history if the Access to all video and features box is checked when the link is shared.
(Optional) Select Manage Links to view all links and change the duration of the link, preview it, or revoke access.
Share floor plans
You can only share a floor plan if there is at least one camera placed on the floor plan that is in a site where you are a Site Admin.
In Command, go to All Products > Floorplans.
Select the floor plan you want to share.
Click the Share icon .
Send a link to an email address, phone number, or you can select More options to Copy Link to manually get a link.
On Share Camera Site, select the Access to and duration settings.
(Optional) Select Manage Links to view all links and change the duration of a link, preview it, or revoke access.
