How to Setup and Perform Basic Configuration for the BK22
The Verkada BK22 Alarm Keypad is a multifunctional device used to arm or disarm partitions with a keycode, view device statuses, and wirelessly connect intrusion sensors.
You can also use existing alarm wiring to connect keypads to the BP52 alarm panel. This has the advantage of saving you time and money on installation by reusing existing cabling.
Requirements
The BK22 must be mounted horizontally (landscape orientation).
The table below outlines the connectivity requirements:
Site with cameras only
Site with sensors only
Site with both cameras and sensors
Connection Requirements
PoE (internet and power)
RS485 to BP52
OR
PoE with local LAN on the same network as BP52
RS485 to BP52
OR
PoE with local LAN on the same network as BP52
The keypad must be running the latest firmware to use the LAN-connected BK22 with the BP52. When connected to the network, keypads update automatically. Allow the update to complete fully before testing functionality.
Installation (RS485)
Add the BK22 serial number or order number to Command.
Verify the BK22 is powered on and online in Command. When the panel detects the keypad, click Confirm to establish the connection.

Configuration
The image below shows the default landing screen for the BK22. Use this screen to view/change the Arm/Disarm status once you add an alarm Keycode.

Enter your keycode to test the arm/disarm functionality. Here, you can see all configured partitions for the alarm system.
a. If there is only one partition, then you will see the below image.

b. To configure more details, click in the top right. Here, you will be able to configure the following:
Console LED
Volume
Brightness
Lock Screen in - time it takes after entering the keycode and no activity for the device to relock.
Home Screen - selectable home screen types, choices between an analog clock, nebula background, and the default digital clock.
Alarm Sound - sound the alarm console makes when there is an active alarm.
Mode - dark or light color scheme.
Door Chime - select the door contact under devices on the keypad > Device > Play Chime

k. Swipe right on the home screen to view a list of all the devices in the site. Click on a device to view its past events and more information.
After a keycode is entered into the BK22, the device can be armed or disarmed without re-entering the keycode for 1 minute and 30 seconds. You can override this timer and immediately lock the device by pressing the back button in the top left corner.
