Add and View Doors on Floor Plans

Learn how to add access-controlled doors to floor plans in Verkada Command

The ability to view the state of your building security all in one place is at the core of Verkada’s vision, and our Floorplans feature gives this level of visibility.

From one view, customers can see all of their cameras, sensors, and access-controlled doors.

Add a door to an existing floor plan

In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Access.

Select your door that you want to add.

At the top right, click Add, select the door icon, and drag and drop it to the desired door on the floor plan.

Rotate, flip, and size the door to fit your needs.

Click Save Changes > Save when you’re finished.

There is also an option to select Double Door if the door you’re controlling is a double door.

View the state of the door

Click the door icon to see the state of the door, the associated Verkada camera, and some metadata corresponding to the door.

You can also see the state of the Door Position Indicator (DPI), the type of door, and its status.

When the Door Events icon is pressed, each door unlock triggers an animation of an unlocked icon as the door opens. This animation appears across the entire floor plan for all doors, regardless of whether a specific door is selected. This provides a bird’s-eye view of traffic flow throughout the floor.
