Override Schedule Access to a Door

Learn how to temporarily modify access to a door schedule

Updated over a week ago

Access Admins and Access Managers can override access to a door, or unlock a door, for a set amount of time directly from the door page in Verkada Command. This is useful for any situation where the door state in the door schedule is no longer appropriate.

Some use cases might include:

  • Locking the door if the security team has departed for a specific period of time.

  • Locking the door remotely if a snow day occurs and students are unable to get to campus for an undefined period of time.

  • Unlocking classroom doors for school hours.

  • Unlocking the door for an extended delivery.

Override access to a door's lock schedule

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Access .

  2. Select a site from the All Sites dropdown.

  3. Select a door to edit.

  4. On the lower left, under Current Schedule, click Override.

You can see the door's currently scheduled state and the option to override it. This makes a one-time change to the door schedule that is either indefinite or expires after a set amount of time.

  5. Confirm the state of the door's lock schedule and modify the schedule as needed. Learn more about how to modify a door's schedule.

  6. Select a timeframe to override the schedule (with exceptions) to the door. See Door Schedules and Exceptions for more information.

  7. Click Override to apply the door state for the selected timeframe.
