Grids allow you to monitor multiple camera feeds in real-time. You can add up to 12 camera feeds per page for live video monitoring. Grids are created per user and can be shared with other members of your organization as a public grid.
We recommend creating custom grids because the default All Cameras Grid cannot be modified.
Create a grid
Grids page
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras
.
On the left panel, select Grids
.
At the top right, click New Grid.
At the top left, enter a unique name for your grid.
Under Manage Tiles, select the cameras you want to add to the grid. You can also select the checkbox next to a site name to select all the cameras in that site.
As you select cameras, they will appear on your grid. You can drag the cameras around to change the order in which they are displayed.
Click Done to save all changes.
Site page
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras
.
On Cameras Home, click
next to the site you want to make into a grid.
Click View as Grid.
At the top right, click New Grid.
Click the checkbox next to the site you want to make into a grid.
At the top left, enter a unique name for your grid.
As you select cameras, they will appear on your grid. You can drag the cameras around to change the order in which they are displayed.
Click Done to save all changes.
Manage grids
Fisheye cameras in ePTZ mode cannot be controlled from a grid.
Grids are organized based on ownership. From the grids dropdown, the grids you created and can manage will be under My Grids. Grids shared with you that were created by others will be under Created by Others.
Users can only manage the grids they created.
Edit camera on a grid
n Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras
.
On the left navigation, select Grids
.
Select your grid from the dropdown menu.
In the top right, select
Edit Grid.
Select/deselect the cameras you want to add/remove from the grid.
Click Done to save all changes.
Change auto rotate time
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras
.
On the left navigation, select Grids
.
Select your grid from the dropdown menu.
At the bottom left, click the Auto Rotate dropdown to change the auto rotation timer of your grid (up to 5 minutes).
You will only see this option if you have more cameras on the grid than the grid size.
Change grid size
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras
.
On the left navigation, select Grids
.
Select your grid from the dropdown menu.
At the bottom right, click Settings
> Grid Tiles and change the default view of 4 grid tiles to 6, 9, or 12.
Each grid can display up to 12 cameras on a single screen. If you add more than 12, the grid cycles through multiple screens. You can change screens by clicking the arrows at the bottom of the grid or changing the auto rotate time.
Make public grids
Any user with live-only viewer permissions or higher can create public grids that anyone in the organization can view.
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras
.
On the left navigation, select Grids
.
Select your grid from the dropdown menu.
At the bottom right, click Settings
.
Click Make Public.
Only the public grid creator can change the grid's settings or delete the grid. Everyone else (including Org Admins) can only view public grids. Public grids display the creator's email at the bottom of the grid view.
If there is a camera on a shared grid you do not have permission to view, you will see Access Restricted in the bottom left of the camera feed. If you need access to the camera, contact your Site Admin.
Enable shortcuts
Shortcuts provide seamless transitions between adjacent camera feeds, enhancing the efficiency of live and historical investigations by enabling quick tracking of moving subjects across multiple cameras.
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras
.
On the left navigation, select Grids
.
Select your grid from the dropdown menu.
In the bottom right, click
to show shortcuts enabled on the cameras.
Enable live face blur
Enable live face blur to protect the privacy of recorded individuals when monitoring your camera system.
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras
.
On the left navigation, select Grids
.
Select your grid from the dropdown menu.
In the bottom right, click
to blur recognized faces that enter the camera views.
Delete a grid
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras
.
On the left navigation, select Grids
.
Select your grid from the dropdown menu.
At the bottom right, the Settings
.
Click Delete Grid.
