Updated over 2 months ago

  • Fisheyes must be in Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) mode to configure privacy regions. Once set, the configured privacy regions carry from there into 180° Panoramic and Four-way Split modes.

  • Although fisheyes support people counting, they do not support occupancy trends.

Panoramic mode

With Panoramic mode, the camera provides a 180° horizontal view, which is best when the camera is wall-mounted.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. Select the camera you want to update.

  3. Navigate to the Settings tab of the camera.

  4. Under General, scroll to Fisheye Mode and click Change.

  5. On Set Fisheye Mode, select Panoramic and click Next.

  6. Check the relevant boxes to use any of the tile views and Save. See Move angles of the tile view modes.

Change the tilt of the Panoramic mode

Site Admins can update the tilt of the Panoramic view to optimize the fields of view to suit their needs.

  1. On the camera image settings (bottom left), click the dropdown and select Edit Tilt.

You should see arrows on the tiles, confirming that you are in edit mode.

  2. Click the arrows to change the position of the tile. To confirm, or delete changes, use the buttons at the bottom of the screen.

Four-Way Split mode

The Four-Way Split mode splits out the panoramic view into 4 sections for a 360° view, used mainly when the camera is ceiling mounted. This view mode is particularly well suited to monitor an outdoor corner, a hallway intersection, or to replace multiple cameras with a single one.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. Select the camera you want to update.

  3. Navigate to the Settings tab of the camera.

  4. Under General, scroll to Fisheye Mode and click Change.

  5. On Set Fisheye Mode, select Four-Way Split and click Next.

  6. Check the relevant boxes to use any of the tile views and Save. See Move angles of the tile view modes.

Change angles of the Four-Way Split mode

Site Admins can update the angles in the Four-Way Split to optimize the fields of view to suit their needs.

  1. On the camera image settings (bottom left), click the dropdown and select Edit Panel View.

You should see arrows on the tiles, confirming that you are in edit mode.

  2. Click the arrows to change the position of the tile. To confirm, or delete changes, use the buttons at the bottom of the Four-Way-Split screen.

  3. If you point to a tile outside of the field of the physical camera lens view, the image appears distorted.

  4. Point the tile in the opposite direction to restore image quality.

Pan-Tilt-Zoom mode

In Pan-Tilt-Zoom mode, you can decide to show the video feed as a 360° view, as a tiles view with different angles, or explore the video with your digital PTZ functionality.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. Select the camera you want to update.

  3. Navigate to the Settings tab of the camera.

  4. Navigate to the Info tab of the camera.

On any tile view, you can move the angle of each tile.

  1. Click the specified tile to modify or click the icon at the bottom of the tile.

  2. When the tile expands in the video feed space, modify the angle by exploring the video as you would with PTZ.

With Site Admin permissions, you can Edit Home Positions to configure the default angle of each tile. You do this in tile view modes > PTZ view mode.
