Change a Camera's Orientation

Learn how to rotate and flip your Verkada camera's feed

Updated over a week ago

In most cases, we recommend that you install your Verkada camera with normal orientation so that the video stream in Verkada Command appears as you expect.

Some install locations may benefit from being installed in a non-standard orientation to maximize the field of view. For example, you may install a camera at 90° to capture a full view of a long hallway or stairwell. In this case, rotate the orientation of your camera in Command.

Select an orientation

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. Select the camera you want to update.

  3. At the bottom right of the camera feed, click the Settings (gear) icon.

  4. On the settings page, scroll down and select Device.

  5. Scroll down to Orientation and click Change.

  6. Select the desired orientation (Normal, Upside down, Left, or Right) and click Save.

Change the Fisheye mode

The Verkada CF81-E camera model supports 3 different view modes: Panoramic, Four-Way Split, and Pan-Tilt-Zoom. You can change the view mode to best suit the needs of your install location. See Change the CF81-E View Mode.
