Grids

Use grids to efficiently monitor multiple camera feeds simultaneously

Grids allow you to monitor multiple camera feeds in real-time. You can add up to 12 camera feeds per page for live video monitoring. Grids are created per user and can be shared with other members of your organization as a public grid.

The default All Cameras Grid cannot be modified. To customize your view, create a custom grid.


Configuration

Grids page

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids.

  3. On the left panel, next to My Grids, click .

    1. In the middle of the page, click Edit Grid.

    2. Enter a unique name for your grid.

    3. Click New Page and enter a unique name to add page(s) to your grid.

      1. Your grid’s pages will auto play. You can disable this by toggling Auto-Play off.

  4. Select a page and click Add Tiles. You can add Camera Tiles or Smart Tiles.

    1. Camera Tiles: On the right panel, select the cameras you want to add to the grid.

      1. You can select the checkbox next to a site or subsite name to select all the cameras in that site.

      2. You can search for a specific camera name by typing on the Filter devices search box.

      3. As you select cameras, they will appear on your grid. You can drag the cameras around to change the order in which they are displayed.

    2. Smart Tiles: On the right panel, select the type of tile you want to add.

  5. Click Layout and select your preferred display option.

  6. Click Done to save.

Up to 12 tiles can be displayed per page.


Manage grids

Fisheye cameras in ePTZ mode cannot be controlled from a grid.

Grids are organized based on ownership. From the grids dropdown, the grids you created and can manage will be under My Grids. Grids shared with you that were created by others will display under Shared with Me.

Each grid can display up to 12 cameras on a single screen. If you add more than 12, the grid cycles through multiple screens. You can change screens by clicking the arrows at the bottom of the grid or by changing the auto rotate time.

Edit camera on a grid

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. On the left panel, select the grid you want to edit.

  4. In the top right, click Edit.

    1. Select the page where you want to add/remove cameras.

    2. Select/deselect the cameras you want to add/remove from the grid.

  5. Click once to return to the home page.

  6. Click Done to save.

Edit smart tiles on a grid

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. On the left panel, select the grid you want to edit.

  4. In the top right, click Edit.

  5. Click twice to return to the home page.

  6. Click Done to save.

Change auto rotation timer

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. In the top right, click Edit.

  4. On the right panel, next to each page’s name, you’ll see a timer . Click on the timer to adjust the auto-rotation time of your grid (up to 5 minutes).

  5. Click Done to save.

Change grid layout

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. On the left panel, select the grid you want to edit.

  4. In the top right, click Edit.

    1. Select the page you want to modify.

    2. At the top, click Layout and select your preferred display option.

  5. Click Done to save.

Make public grids

Any user with live-only viewer permissions or higher can create public grids that are visible to anyone in the organization.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. On the left panel, select the grid you want to edit.

  4. In the top right, click .

    1. Select the Make Public checkbox.

Only the public grid creator can change the grid's settings or delete the grid. Everyone else, including Org Admins, can only view public grids.

If there is a camera on a shared grid you do not have permission to view, you will see Access Restricted in the bottom left of the camera feed. If you need access to the camera, contact your Site Admin.

Mark a grid as Favorite

When accessing the grids page, your favorite grids will appear at the top of the list on the left panel for quicker access.

Any public grid can be added to your favorite list. This list is unique per Command user.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. On the left panel, select the grid you want to edit.

  4. In the top right, click .

  5. Check the Favorite checkbox.

Set a Home grid

Setting a grid as Home will always take you to that specific grid when navigating to the grids page in Verkada Command.

Any public grid can be added to your favorites list. This list is unique to each Command user.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. On the left panel, select the grid you want to edit.

    1. In the top right, click .

    2. Select the Set as Grid Home checkbox.

Enable shortcuts

Shortcuts enable seamless transitions between adjacent camera feeds, enhancing the efficiency of live and historical investigations by allowing for quick tracking of moving subjects across multiple cameras.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. On the left panel, select the grid you want to edit.

  4. In the bottom right, click to show shortcuts enabled on the cameras.

Enable live face blur

Enable live face blur to protect the privacy of individuals being recorded when monitoring your camera system.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. On the left panel, select the grid you want to edit.

  4. In the bottom right, click to blur recognized faces that appear in the camera views.

Delete a grid's page

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. On the left panel, select the grid you want to edit.

  4. In the top right, click Edit.

    1. On the right panel, select Delete next to the page you want to delete.

    2. Click Delete to confirm.

Delete a grid

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. On the left navigation, select Grids .

  3. On the left panel, select the grid you want to delete.

  4. In the top right, click .

    1. Select Delete Grid.

    2. Click Delete to confirm.
