Panic buttons are discrete ways to raise an alarm in an emergency. You need to configure a response level and arm the partition containing panic buttons before they can trigger an alarm.
Configure a panic button
Configuring a panic button consists of three steps. You must configure all three steps to ensure your panic buttons always raise an alarm when pressed. Failure to configure all three steps correctly can result in panic buttons not raising alarms as expected.
Step 1: Configure a response
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Alarms.
Select the Alarm site that you want to configure.
On the left navigation, select Response
>
.
Select one of the following responses:
Notification only
Standard
Immediate Dispatch
Add a contact
Click Save.
Step 2: Configure a 24x7 armed partition
Create a new partition and add all panic buttons to it.
Assign the response configured in Step 1 to this partition.
Enable the schedule and set it to 24/7.
Panic buttons will not raise the alarm if the site is disarmed. Failure to set a 24/7 arm schedule can result in alarms not being raised when a panic button is pressed.
Step 3: Ensure NO keycodes can disarm the panic partition
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Alarms.
Select the Alarm site that you want to configure.
On the left navigation, select
Settings.
Under Keycodes > Partition(s) to arm/disarm, un-select Panic Buttons for all keycodes.
This step is necessary to ensure no users can accidentally disarm the panic partition. Failure to remove all keycode arm/disarm access can result in alarms not being raised when a panic button is pressed.
