Set up a BK22

Install and mount the BK22 Alarms keypad

Updated over a month ago

The Verkada BK22 alarm keypad is multi-functional where you can arm/disarm partitions with a key code, view device status, and connect wireless intrusion sensors.

You can also use existing alarm wiring to connect keypads to the BP52 alarm panel. This has the advantage of saving you time and money on installation by reusing existing cabling.

Requirements

  • The BK22 requires DC Power (up to 36V) for power and must use RS-485 back to the BP52 for network connectivity.

  • The BK22 includes a mounting bracket and associated mounting hardware for ease of installation. This must be mounted horizontally (landscape mode).

Connect the alarm keypad to an internet-enabled PoE switch (802.3af or higher) to upgrade its firmware before connecting it to the BP52.

What's included

  • BK11/21 Alarm keypad

  • Mounting screws

Installation and set up

Note: Be mindful of the colors, as they must match the other side of the panel.

  2. Connect the other end of the cable to the BP52.

  3. Add the BK22 serial number or order number to Command.

  4. Verify the BK22 is powered on and online in Command. When the panel detects the keypad, click Confirm to establish the connection.
