Learn about the roles and user permissions granted for Verkada Alarms

Updated over a month ago

This article is a guide for new Alarms. Refer to this article if you have classic Alarms. See New Alarms vs Classic Alarms if you are unsure which version of Alarms you have.

This article describes the set of roles and associated permissions for Verkada Alarms.

  • Roles specify what tasks users can perform and what features users can access in Command.

  • Permissions are set using roles, which define the level of access users and groups have to devices and settings within sites/subsites.

See Roles and Permissions for Command for an in-depth explanation of the features and configurations available for overall Verkada Command usage and administration.

Because organization and site permissions serve different purposes, they are separate. However, users need to have permissions set for these levels to fully use Command.
