Troubleshoot your printer
Unable to add a printer to the Guest app
If you are unable to find the printer that you want to add to Guest, we recommend the following:
Ensure that you are using a supported printer.
Ensure that your printer is on the same Wi-Fi network or wired network as the tablet.
Plug in your printer on the wired network to ensure that it is getting a connection to the LAN.
After ensuring that your printer is on the same LAN, we recommend rebooting the printer.
If the printer is on the same LAN as the tablet and you are still unable to see the printer, contact Verkada Support for further troubleshooting.
Unable to print badges
If you're unable to print a badge, it can be that the printer is unable to print or the Print Badge button is greyed out (as shown).
To troubleshoot:
Use the Printers page in the site settings.
Select the printer to see its status. Anything other than online is a problem.
Verify that the printer is plugged in.
Check that the iPad is on the same network as the printer. If possible, plug the printer in to the network via an ethernet cable.
If the printer does not connect, contact Verkada Support.
Badges don't print in color
Check that your printer model is Epson C4000 or Epson C3500.
Check ink levels on the printer.
When you configure a new guest type or edit an existing one, you can customize how badges will look when printed.
Low print quality
Connect your printer via IP address, rather than AirPrint. An IP address retains better image fidelity.
