Setting up an Epson CW-C4000u
The Epson CW-C4000u is a color-label printer supported by Verkada Guest. This is an inkjet printer and requires 4” x 3” die-cut label rolls. To print labels automatically, the printers can be connected to a Guest iPad.
Unboxing an Epson CW-C4000u
Epson CW-C4000u printers ordered directly from Verkada will ship in the manufacturer’s original packaging and include the printer and ink. This package will also include a roll of sample labels, but these are not compatible with Verkada Guest. ACCX-LBL-PRT-2 color label rolls are recommended to use with Verkada Guest.
Remove the printer from the box.
Remove all protective material on the exterior and inside the printer.
Assemble the power adapter.
Insert the adapter’s DC connector into the printer.
Insert the AC cable connector into the adapter.
Plug the AC cable into a grounded outlet.
Hold down the power button until the power LED turns on. Set the language and date/time preferences.
Shake the ink cartridges as instructed and install the cartridges. Follow the on-screen instructions to charge the ink. The ink charging process should take about 20 minutes.
Insert the label roll into the printer. While the printer is turned on:
Open the front cover.
Raise the lock lever of the roll paper guides.
Slide the roll paper guides outward as far as they go.
Lower the lock lever of the roll paper guides and insert paper with the printable side face up.
Raise the lock lever of the roll paper guides. Slide the roll paper guides against the paper.
Lower the lock lever of the roll paper guides.
Adjust the shutters to match the width of the label roll.
Lower the lock lever of the paper ejection guides.
Slide the paper ejection guides outward.
Pull out the paper as shown.
Hold down the paper by hand and slide the paper ejection guides against the paper.
Raise the lock lever of the paper ejection guides until it clicks into place.
Pull out the leading edge of the roll paper, and then close the front cover.
Setting up the printer’s network connection
The CW-C4000u supports an ethernet connection to the network.
Connect the printer to the network using the LAN port on the back.
Find the printer’s IP address by navigating to Menu > General Settings > Network Settings > Network Status > Wired LAN Status.
