Add Cameras and Doors in Verkada Guest

Learn how Verkada Guest enables users to unlock doors and track guests

Updated today

Verkada Guest allows your organization to provide an optimal visitor experience and gain better visibility into who is in your facilities, including adding cameras and doors to your existing Guest settings.

Cameras enable users of the Guest dashboard to view events. Doors enable Admins and Managers to view and edit door schedules, and Site Viewers are able to use doors to view door events. Learn more about Roles of Command Users.

Adding Cameras and Doors in Guest

Select a site to add cameras or doors

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Guest.

  2. On the left navigation, click the Guest Settings (gear) icon.

  3. Under Organization, scroll to Sites.

  4. From the list of tiles, select the site where you want to add cameras (or doors).

Add cameras

Cameras can be paired with a Guest site if they belong:

  1. in the same site as the Guest site; or

  2. in a subsite of the Guest site

A user must have at least Live-Only Viewer permissions for a site in order to add cameras from that site to Guest.

To add Cameras to a Guest site:

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Guest.

  2. On the left navigation, click the Guest Settings (gear) icon.

  3. Under Sites, scroll to Cameras.

  4. Next to the # of cameras selected, click Manage cameras.

  5. On the Add cameras to your dashboard page, you are prompted with the number of cameras allowed to add.

  6. Select up to 4 (maximum) cameras for a Guest site.

  7. Optional. To remove all cameras and start over, at the top right, click Clear.

Add doors

A user must be an Access Site Admin for a site in order to add doors from the site to Guest.

Doors can be connected to a Guest site as long as they are within the same site.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Guest.

  2. On the left navigation, click the Guest Settings (gear) icon.

  3. Under Sites, scroll to Doors.

  4. Next to the # of doors selected, click Manage doors.

  5. On the Enable Doors for Guest Management page, you are prompted with the number of doors allowed to add.

  6. Select up to 4 (maximum) doors for a Guest site.

Setting up door access

Guest users must have door access assigned to them. Opening a door from the Guest Home page requires remote unlock to be enabled:

  1. For an access user

  2. For the door

  3. For the access site

FAQ

How can I limit receptionists to only having access to front desk cameras?

Cameras may be connected to Guest if they are in the same site as the Guest site or are in subsites nested under the Guest site. Organizations that value using Guest in a site with many cameras can limit access for receptionists by:

  1. Place relevant cameras in a subsite.

  2. Permission receptionists to have camera permissions only for the appropriate subsite.

Can I give visitors door access?

Invited visitors can get door access from their registration link. To configure door access for invited guest, edit a Guest Type and enable Guest Door Access.
