Use the Timelapse Feature

Learn how to use the built-in Verkada Command time-lapse feature

Verkada Command threads together thumbnails over a 24-hour period allowing you to view the entire time as a timelapse that you can download as an MP4 file for sharing.

Timelapses are only available for the past 30 days of footage.

Enable timelapse

You must enable the timelapse feature before you can use it, they cannot not be generated retroactively from the point of activation.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. Select a camera.

  3. At the right of the camera feed, click the Settings icon.

  4. On the left, select Device.

  5. Toggle on Timelapse.

Use timelapse

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. Select a camera.

  3. Under the camera feed, click the History icon.

  4. Under and to the right, click the Clips dropdown and select Timelapse.

  5. Move your cursor over the motion bar to scroll through the timelapse.

  6. Click the thumbnail to play the timelapse.

  7. (Optional) When playing back a timelapse, click the Download icon to save it as an MP4 file.


The timelapse feature is only available in 24-hour durations and is unavailable if there is less than 24 hours of footage.
