Use digital zoom to crop and expand a camera view to get a closer look

Digital zoom allows users to focus on specific areas of interest in live or recorded footage, providing more visibility without the need for physical camera adjustments.


Use digital zoom

Digital zoom is different from optical zoom. For the best experience, set the live video quality to HQ and historical footage quality to SQ with HQ motion. See Manage Camera Video Quality for more information.

Camera live streams

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. Select the camera you want to view.

  3. On the video player's toolbar, click zoom-in and zoom-out magnifier to adjust the magnification.

  4. Once zoomed, click and drag the video to pan.

Camera historical footage

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras .

  2. Select the camera you want to view.

  3. Under the video player, select History.

  4. Select the date and time of the footage you want to view.

  5. On the right of the video feed, click zoom-in and zoom-out to adjust the magnification.

  6. Once zoomed, click and drag the video to pan.

Command app

  1. In the Command app, select the camera you want to view.

  2. (Optional) For historical footage, click and drag the live feed to the right until you arrive at the date/time needed.

  3. Use two fingers to pinch the video feed to zoom in/out.

  4. Once zoomed, use one finger to click and drag the video to pan.
