Set up Mobile NFC in Command to enable tap to unlock

Updated this week

Verkada supports secure mobile NFC credentials via Apple Wallet, allowing employees to unlock doors with a tap of their iPhone or Apple Watch. This article details the steps to configure this feature in Command before your employees can enable it on their devices.

You must purchase Mobile NFC licenses and claim them in Command before you see the option to enable Mobile NFC. Contact Verkada Sales for more information.

Restrictions of Verkada badges on Apple Wallet:

  • Verkada badges on Apple Wallet are not compatible with AD31 or AD32 reader hardware or any non-Verkada readers.

  • Every reader in your organization must be compatible.

  • Verkada can only support corporate badges on Apple Wallet. Verkada cannot issue resident cards for multi-family units, room keys for the hospitality industry, or student IDs in higher education.

Android Mobile NFC is unrestricted and compatible with any Verkada reader.
