Find and Add License Keys to Command

Learn how to add license keys are needed to use the Command platform

Updated today

When you add new products to Verkada Command, you must also claim your license key for those products to continue using Command and to remain in compliance.

Find your license key

You can find the license key in your Verkada order email (for the devices you ordered).

Required. To request your license keys, you must:

Claim your license key

Required. Licenses must be claimed in Command to be valid. You need valid licenses to use Command. If you don't claim your licenses when adding new devices or products - or renew your licenses when they expire, you will lose access to most of your Command functionality after a 30-day grace period.

  1. On the License Manager page, enter your license key (found in your Verkada order email).

  2. Whenever you add new devices to Command, you must also remember to claim your license for those devices. The license key is claimed on the License Manager page.

  3. Once you click Claim license, you’ll see the Claim License page.

  4. Select how you would like to claim your license key. You have two options:

    • As an increase to licensed units—This increases your claimed licenses and allows you to manage more products. Choose this option if you have added new devices to Command and need to increase your claimed licenses. Since the licenses co-term, the renewal date will also change. Because you have added new devices and want to increase your licenses, select As an increase to Licensed units. Once you make your selection, you’ll see your new device cap and expiry date below.

    • As a renewal—This moves your renewal date only, and does not change the number of claimed licenses. Choose this option if you have renewed your licenses early, and want Command to automatically apply the new license key once the old key expires.

  5. At the bottom right, click Claim.

Note: If you want to change the choice you made when claiming a license key, you can contact Verkada Support or [email protected] for assistance.

FAQ

What if you did not receive an order email

If you did not receive an order email from Verkada with the license key, we recommend that you:

  1. Check your spam folder: Sometimes the order email might be sent to your spam folder.

  2. Ask the person who ordered the cameras: If the order was placed by someone else in your organization, they might have received the order email.

  3. Ask your Verkada reseller: If your Verkada reseller handled the order, they might have received the order email.

What to do if you're unable to locate the order email

If you or your reseller are unable to locate the order email, contact Verkada Support.

What happens if I don’t claim my license?

If you don’t claim your license after adding new products to Command, you’ll see a banner reminding you to claim your license key. All organization admins will also receive an email reminder to claim the license key after 5 days. If you don’t claim your license keys within 36 days of adding the new products, you’ll lose access to Command.
