Wide Dynamic Range

Enable WDR to optimize your camera's image in high-contrast lighting conditions

Updated yesterday

Wide dynamic range (WDR) improves image quality in high-contrast lighting conditions. It enhances image quality by brightening dark areas and dimming bright ones. This results in a more balanced image that captures details in both well-lit and poorly-lit environments.

Edit WDR configuration

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. Select a camera to configure.

  3. At the bottom left of the camera feed, select the video quality menu.

  4. Select WDR and choose one of the following options:

    1. ON

    2. DAY ONLY

    3. OFF

Select DAY ONLY if image quality is reduced in night mode. WDR enhances contrast between light and dark areas, which can make night mode images appear darker.
