Floor plans are a great way to plan and visualize your Verkada system. They can also be useful for a myriad of reasons, from historical activity hotspots to active motion detection. Floor plans also support our Verkada sensor so you can quickly view sensor data straight from the floor plan.

Adding and Labeling a Floor Plan

Requirements

  • The floor plan file must be a .svg or .pdf file less than 5MB in size and less than 512 megapixels.

  • In order to add a floor plan, the user must be an Organization Admin.

Uploading and aligning your floor plan

  1. From the Home page hover your mouse over the site's name that is in bold

  2. Select the triple-dot icon on the left side of the site name and select Add a Floor Plan

  3. Select the file and wait a moment while the file uploads

  4. Once the file is uploaded it needs to be assigned a location and oriented on the map

Note: Delimit each floor using a comma. For example floors 1, 2, and 3 would be entered as 1, 2, 3

Labeling a floor plan

  1. Go to the top right, select the settings cog icon in the top right of the screen

  2. Then go to Floor Settings and select the +Abc button

  3. The label can then be dragged and dropped wherever you want on your floor plan


Adding and Removing Devices

Adding a device

  1. Select the settings cog icon in the top right of the screen

  2. Then select Add Devices, this will pull up a window with all available devices

  3. Select the device(s) you would like to add to the floor plan

    1. We currently support Cameras and Sensors

  4. Drag and place the device(s) where you want on your floor plan. After you add the camera you can then view the live feed from that camera from the floor plan

Note: Devices placed on the floor plan will inherit the GPS coordinates from the underlying Google Map.

If you edit the location of a floor plan, Command will ask if you want to move all cameras placed on the floor plan as well. The cameras will be assigned new GPS coordinates based on the new position of the floor plan.

Removing a device

  1. Click the 3 dots in the top right

  2. Select Edit Devices

  3. Select the device on the floor map

  4. Select Remove Camera or Remove Sensor


Editing Existing Floor Plans

Editing Building Settings

  1. From the Home page select on Maps in the bottom right-hand corner

  2. Select the floor plan you want to edit

  3. Select the settings cog icon in the top right corner

  4. Select Floor Settings

  5. Hover your mouse over the name of the floor plan under the Buildings header and select the settings cog icon that appears

  6. You will now be able to change the building settings

Moving a camera and changing field of view

  1. From the Home page select on Maps in the bottom right-hand corner

  2. Select the floor plan you want to edit

  3. Select the settings cog icon in the top right corner

  4. Select on Edit Cameras

  5. Select on the camera you would like to edit on that floor plan

  6. From here the camera should turn blue, and you will be able to drag and drop to a new location

  7. You can also select on the camera's field of view and drag it in the correct direction the camera is facing

    Note: You may have to zoom the floor plan in to properly rotate the field of view.

  8. Once finished, you can select the X located in the top right-hand corner to exit the edit window

Deleting a floor plan

  1. Select the gear icon in the top right-hand corner

  2. Select Floor Settings

  3. Select the Delete button
