Add and View Doors on Floor Plans

Learn how to add access-controlled doors to floor plans in Verkada Command

Updated over a week ago

The ability to view the state of your building security all in one place is at the core of Verkada's vision, and our Floorplans feature gives this level of visibility.

From one view, customers can see all of their cameras, sensors, and access-controlled doors.

Add a door to an existing floor plan

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Access.

  2. Select your door that you want to add.

  3. At the top right, click Add, select the door icon, and drag and drop it to the desired door on the floor plan.

  4. Rotate, flip, and size the door to fit your needs. The video below outlines the flow.

  5. Click Save Changes > Save when you're finished.

Note: There is also an option to select Double Door in case the door you're controlling is a double door.

View the state of the door

Click the door icon to see the state of the door and the associated Verkada camera, and some metadata corresponding to the door.

You can also see the state of the Door Position Indicator (DPI), the type of door, and its status.

When an unlock occurs, an animation occurs as the door opens. This animation occurs across the entire floor plan for all doors whether you select a door or not. This allows you to fully understand the traffic flow through your building from a bird's eye view.

You also have a doors only view. In the following video, the doors only view is selected and one of the doors is unlocked.
