Configure your intercom for use as as an emergency phone

Updated this week

Verkada TD53 and TD52 intercoms can be used on Emergency Blue Light Towers to request aid during emergencies. When emergency mode is enabled, the output locks to call in progress. The tower or wall-mounted strobe will activate and flash during the call.

Configuration

Emergency mode extends the maximum call duration to 120 minutes, disables the push-button call termination, and allows up to four context cameras (with the CH52) to be paired with the intercom.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Intercom .

  2. Select your intercom and click Settings.

  3. Under Device, toggle on Configure as an Emergency Intercom.

If you have a GC31-E gateway for LTE failover, verify its connection to your intercom by checking for the LTE icon in the upper left corner of the intercom's Live tab.

If you have a SIP server, you need to configure a fallback extension for emergency mode to work correctly. See Configure a SIP Fallback Extension for more information.

Add context camera

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Intercom .

  2. Select your intercom and click Settings.

  3. Under Pairing, select Add Camera.

  4. Select the camera to pair. It will save automatically.

Emergency mode supports one paired camera. If you have a CH52 multisensor, all four sensors will pair with the intercom.
