Guest App Integrations

This article will help you integrate Guest with Slack and Microsoft Teams

For more convenient Guest user management you can enable 3rd party app integrations with Slack and Microsoft Teams so you can be notified when a guest checks in to your organization.

Slack

Process

  1. Select Guest from the All Products menu in the top left-hand corner

  2. Select Guest Settings from the menu that appears on the left-hand side

  3. Navigate to Notifications in the menu and select Connect to Slack

  4. A new page will pop up, select Allow to grant Verkada Guest Permissions to access Slack

  5. From Slack search for the Verkada Guest app and add it to your account. After that, you are all set to receive Guest notifications via Slack.

Microsoft Teams

Prerequisite

  • You need to be a Microsoft Teams Admin in order to enable this feature

Process

  1. Select Guest from the All Products menu in the top left-hand corner

  2. Select Guest Settings from the menu that appears on the left-hand side

  3. Navigate to Notifications in the menu and select Connect to MS Teams

  4. A new page will pop up for you to sign in to Microsoft

  5. Accept the permissions to allow Guest to integrate with Teams

    Note: You will need Global Administrator or Privileged Role Administrator permissions in Teams to enable this feature.

  6. From MS Teams search for the Verkada Guest app and add it to your account. After that, you are all set to receive Guest notifications via Teams.

Note: If you have 3rd party apps disabled by default, for your Microsoft account please follow the steps below to change your account settings.

  1. Under Third-party apps, ensure the dropdown menu is set to Allow specific apps and block all others

  2. Select Allow apps

  3. In the sidebar that appears, search for Verkada Guest

  4. Hover over the menu item that appears and select Add

  5. Click Allow at the bottom of the sidebar

  6. Click Save at the bottom of the page
