Add Products to your Site Plan

This guide gives you a comprehensive overview of using the Plan Editor

Site Planner supports the entire Verkada product suite and all product lines. Add devices to your site plan to create a site mockup and generate a bill of materials.


Add products

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Site Planner .

  2. Under My Projects, select your project.

  3. In the left navigation, select your plan.

  4. Click Add Device, under the product you want to add.

  5. In the left navigation, select the dropdown next to a product line and select a model.

  6. Click a spot on the map to place the device.

  7. If the device has a field of view setting, click and drag the field of view to the correct angle.

  8. On the right panel, at the top, name your device.

    Note: This name will appear in your Bill of Materials and Exports.

Quickly add additional devices by selecting a device on the plan and copy with CTRL+C (or ⌘+C on Mac) and paste with CTRL+V (or ⌘+V on Mac) on the plan.


Product options

The product options menu on the right side of the plan editor has the following information:

  • Capabilities: Shows details about the device (for select models)

  • Details: Shows the device model, license, and retention (depending on product type)

  • Specs: Shows details about the device's hardware capabilities. Options displayed depend on product family, line, and model.


Product add ons

You can select add-ons for a device, such as accessories or additional cloud data storage licensing.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Site Planner .

  2. Under My Projects, select your project.

  3. In the left navigation, select your plan.

  4. Click a device on the plan. The product options menu will open on the right.

    1. In the top left, click .

    2. The supported accessories are shown. Select an accessory to add it to the device.


Bulk edit

You need to enable Click to Drag to bulk edit. See Configure Site Planner User Preferences for more information.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Site Planner .

  2. Under My Projects, select your project.

  3. In the left navigation, select your plan.

  4. Click and drag on the map to select a set of devices.

  5. (Optionally) hold SHIFT and click on specific devices to select.

  6. In the right panel, edit the device options as needed.

    Note: You only see attributes you can modify across all selected devices.
