Verkada supports an integration with SimonsVoss SmartIntego locks. This integration includes the SmartIntego handles, cylinders, and padlocks.
SimonsVoss wireless locks are only supported on the AC12 access control panel. The AC12 can support up to 16 GatewayNodes and up to 16 locks.
GatewayNode and panel installation
A GatewayNode is a wireless SmartIntego hub that connects with SmartIntego locks. It communicates with a Verkada AC12 panel over TCP/IP, requiring both devices to be on the same local network. In this setup, the AC12 panel acts as the client, while the GatewayNode functions as the server, with the AC12 connecting via TCP port 2101.
Lock Installation and SmartIntego Configuration
Follow SimonsVoss’ hardware installation instructions to install the appropriate SmartIntego locksets. Then, follow the SimonsVoss software instructions to connect the SmartIntego locksets before adding them to Verkada Command.
To receive door status events in Command when using a Digital Smart Handle with Door Monitoring, configure the lock to send door status data to Verkada. Open the Door Monitoring settings for the Smart Handle in the SmartIntego Tool and enable the following:
Read interval for the door sensorics (sec) is set to a value that is not Off.
Under Transmission of Events ensure the following are checked:
Door open events
Lock bolt events
Door handle events
Refer to SimonsVoss’ Step-by-Step WO for general site walk and installation management best practices.
Command configuration
Once the AC12 is connected to the hub(s), which are connected to the lock(s), and the hub(s) and lock(s) have been brought up using the SmartIntego tool, you are ready to start bringing these devices into Verkada Command.
Add a new AC12 to Command.
During AC12 setup, set Device Mode to Simons Voss.
Navigate to the controller page for the AC12 and click Add.
Under Lock Setup:
Enter the Lock Address (device address).
Select the Lock Type.
(Optional) This step is only needed for the initial hub setup. Under Hub Connection, click Add New Hub and enter the following:
Bulk import hubs and locks via CSV

In Command, navigate to the controller page for the AC12 in SimonsVoss mode.
Click Import.
Upload the WO configuration CSV file.
