Configure an Alarm Response
Updated today

This article is a guide for new Alarms. Refer to this article if you have classic Alarms. See New Alarms vs Classic Alarms if you are unsure which version of Alarms you have.

Configure an alarm response

Multiple partitions can share the same alarm response. The events from these partitions flow into a single alarm during an alarm raised event.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Alarms .

  2. Select the Alarm site that you want to configure.

  3. On the left navigation, select Response .

  4. From the dropdown in the top right select your response mode.

    1. Notification Only: Contacts will be notified via SMS only, and they can reply directly. Emergency service will not be dispatched.

    2. Standard: Contacts will be called first, then emergency service will be dispatched.

    3. Immediate Dispatch: Emergency services will be dispatched first, then contacts will be called.

  5. Under Contacts will be notified by SMS:

    1. In the top right, click to add Command users to the contact list.

    2. Click and drag next to a contact to change the order of the contact list.

Additional settings

Variations of the following options will be available based on your chosen response level.

  • Under Verification by agent via video: Contains the cameras used as triggers and those used for video verification for configured sensors.

  • Under Agent Talkdown on triggering camera (For Standard response flow only): Enable talkdown and select the context camera.

You can set up different alarm responses for the partitions within the same site. By default, all partitions appear under Default Response. Create a new partition and drag and drop the appropriate partitions from Default Response into your new alarm response.
