Agent Talk Down

Use agent talk down to deter intruders when an alarm is triggered

Updated over a month ago

This article is a guide for new Alarms. Refer to this article if you have classic Alarms. See New Alarms vs Classic Alarms if you are unsure which version of Alarms you have.

Agent Talk Down enables remote monitoring agents to use the BZ11 horn speaker for live talk-down when an alarm is raised, helping deter intruders before dispatching authorities.

Requirements

  • Active video alarm license for the physical location of your site.

  • BZ11 with an active hardware license configured for your site.

  • BZ11 paired with cameras in your alarm site.

  • Paired camera(s) configured as triggers in the camera partition.

  • Response Level set to Standard.

Failure to complete any of the above requirements may mean that Agent Talk Down is not properly configured for your site and subsequently can not work as expected.

Configure Agent talkdown

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Alarms.

  2. Select the Alarms site that you want to configure.

  3. Create a camera partition and add cameras associated with horn speakers.

  4. On the left menu, select Response > Talk down by Agent.

Note: This option is only available for the Standard response level.

Talkdown by agent is enabled by default if the speaker is paired with a camera that is added as a camera trigger.
