The MT81 is a cloud-managed, streamlined solution with a standard configuration that works across the United States. We strongly recommend reviewing our two Verkada-Validated Configurationsarrow-up-right and selecting whichever one better meets your needs for your trailer solution. A customer’s security requirements, budget, and weather forecast will all impact what the best solution is for them. We fully support our ecosystem of Verkada partners to offer tailored solutions for these needs.

MT81 trials are not available at this time. However, you can request a demo through your Verkada Account Executive or by contacting [email protected].

Purchased MT81s can be returned under our 30-day return policy. Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for return shipping. Returns over $250,000 USD are subject to Verkada approval.

The MT81 is available to purchase through the Verkada partner network.

chevron-rightWhat’s the difference between the two sizes - MT81-6KWH and MT81-13KWHhashtag

The only difference is battery capacity. The MT81-6KWH features a single 6.6KWH lithium ion battery pack. The MT81-13KWH features two 6.6KWH lithium ion battery packs for 13.2KWH total capacity.

Warranty & repairs

chevron-rightIs the MT81 covered under warranty?hashtag

The MT81 includes a parts-only 5-year warranty. The warranty does not cover servicing or field installation. Claims are managed by Verkada Support and fulfilled by Wanco, subject to their lead times.

chevron-rightA part on my trailer is broken. What should I do?hashtag

Contact Verkada Support and provide your MT81 serial number with photos of the damaged component. Either Verkada Support will troubleshoot and diagnose the issue, or involve Wanco if it is a trailer specific component needing to be investigated.

Trailer servicing and warranty field installation is handled through the Verkada partner network.

Wanco is the manufacturer Verkada partners with to build the MT81 trailer.


Third-party modifications

chevron-rightCan I mount third-party devices on my Verkada trailer?hashtag

Customers may use third-party cameras, gateways, and devices, but mounting compatibility isn’t guaranteed. Third-party devices can’t be monitored in Command, have limited data on the Verkada data plan, and may reduce trailer battery life and uptime.

The MT81 trailer is not compatible with Verkada Command Connectorsarrow-up-right. Command Connectors are typically used to monitor 3rd party cameras in Verkada Command but are only recommended for indoor environments.


Command management

MT81s are commissioned into command similar to any other Verkada device.

chevron-rightDo all of the Verkada devices mounted on the MT81 need to be in the same organization and site?hashtag

Not all devices mounted on the MT81 are required to be in the same org, however we strongly recommend all devices are in the same org to ensure a seamless user experience.

chevron-rightCan I add third-party trailers to Verkada Command?hashtag

Trailer management in Verkada Command is exclusively available to the MT series.


Power and battery

chevron-rightWhat do I do when my battery runs out and I can’t charge via solar?hashtag

You can plug your trailer into an outlet using the male AC port.

chevron-rightCan I monitor battery usage in Command?hashtag

Yes, current and historical battery charge percentage is available on the stats page in Command.

chevron-rightCan I provide supplemental power to the MT81?hashtag

Yes you can connect shore power or a generator to the trailer to add supplementary power. This is most helpful in times of low sunlight where you may not get a full battery charge during the day. Set up power alerts to be notified if your trailer is running low on battery power, so you can connect supplementary power to ensure consistent device uptime.

  • Battery lifespan depends on the number of devices on your trailer and the weather.

  • For most configurations - including VVC1 and VVC2arrow-up-right

    1. MT81-6KWH will last >2 days without additional charging

    2. MT81-13KWH will last > 4 days without additional charging

These lithium ion batteries have a warranty period of 5 years.

Shipping & installation

chevron-rightHow is the MT81 delivered?hashtag

MT81 trailers are delivered by flatbed truck. Customers or partners need a forklift for unloading and equipment to tow them to the final location.

chevron-rightAre cameras installed on the trailer before shipping?hashtag

Trailers do not ship with Verkada devices installed. Installation of the devices is completed by the partner.
