Floorplans

Adding and configuring floorplans under the maps tab in Verkada Command

Updated over a week ago

Floorplans are a great way to plan and visualize your Verkada system. They can also be useful for a myriad of reasons, from active motion detection to historical activity hotspots using Heat Maps. Floorplans also support our Verkada air quality sensors so you can quickly view sensor data straight from the floorplan.

Adding and Labeling a Floorplan

Requirements

  • The floorplan file must be a .svg or .pdf file less than 5MB in size and less than 512 megapixels.

  • In order to add a floorplan, the user must be an Organization Admin.

Uploading and aligning your floorplan

  1. Select Floorplans from the All Products menu in the top left-hand corner

  2. Select + New Floorplan

  3. Select the file and wait a moment while the file uploads

  4. Once the file is uploaded it needs to be assigned a location and oriented on the map

Note: Delimit each floor using a comma. For example floors 1, 2, and 3 would be entered as 1, 2, 3

Labeling a floorplan

  1. Go to the top right, select the 3 dots

  2. Then go to Floor Settings and select the +Abc button

  3. The label can then be dragged and dropped wherever you want on your floorplan

Adding and Removing Devices

  2. Then select Add Devices, this will pull up a window with all available devices

  3. Select the device(s) you would like to add to the floorplan

    1. We currently support Cameras and Air Quality Sensors

  4. Drag and place the device(s) where you want on your floorplan. After you add the camera you can then view the live feed from that camera from the floorplan

Note: Devices placed on the floorplan will inherit the GPS coordinates from the underlying Google Map.

If you edit the location of a floorplan, Command will ask if you want to move all cameras placed on the floorplan as well. The cameras will be assigned new GPS coordinates based on the new position of the floorplan.
