Mounting a SV21, SV23, and SV25 Sensor
Companion guide showcasing how to mount a SV20 Series Air Quality Sensor
Updated over a week ago

The SV20 Series of Air Quality sensors can be mounted in up to 4 different configurations. The specific configuration will depend on your installation constraints and which sensor readings you find most meaningful.

CO₂ Monitoring

Wall mounting, between 3-6 ft from floor.

Keep sensor at least 5 ft away from any doors or operable windows.

Vape Detection

Ceiling mounting, no more than 8-9 ft from the ground. If the height is increased, detection will decrease.

If placed in a bathroom, 1 sensor per 2 stalls is recommended. At least 3 feet from vents or walls.

Other

Ceiling mounting recommended.

In the box of your SV20 series device.

  • 1 x SV20 series Air Quality Sensor

  • 3 x M4x50mm Machine Screw

  • 1 x T10 security Torx Screwdriver

  • 1 x Mounting Plate & Template

  • 3 x Washers

  • 3 x Wing Nuts

  • 4 x M4x25mm PH2 Wall Screws

What you will need

  • A smartphone or laptop

  • A #2 Phillips screwdriver or power drill with a #2 Phillips driver bit

  • 1/4 inch (6.5mm) drill bit for wall anchors

  • 1/8 inch (3mm) drill bit for pilot holes

  • A shielded Cat5 or Cat6 ethernet cable with a .2-.25" outside diameter (5-6.5mm)

Anchoring

  • For solid wall material like wood or metal, drill 1/8 inch pilot holes. Drive mounting screws directly into the pilot holes.

  • For drywall, drill 1/4 inch holes. Insert plastic anchors into holes and drive mounting screws into anchors.

  • For a drop ceiling, press included screws through the drop ceiling tile. Secure on the reverse side using the included washers and wingnuts.

  • Plugin the sensor. The status LED will turn orange to indicate the sensor has power. Note: It may take a few moments for the LED to power on. The LED will turn white to indicate the sensor is active.

Ceiling mounting

Ceiling mounting option 1: Cable exit through surface

Pull ethernet cable through and connect it to the port

Ceiling mounting option 2: Cable exit along surface

Plug in the the cable. Loop the cable through the internal cord management feature.

For both methods, place the sensor onto the mount plate and engage the hooks to secure. Ensure that all 4 hooks are probably connected and that all edges of the sensor are flush against the mounting plate.

To secure the sensor, tighten the security screw using the provided T10 Torx security screwdriver.
