What's included with your SV11 sensor
1 SV11 Environmental Sensor
3 M4x50mm machine screw
1 T10 security Torx screwdriver
1 mounting plate & template
3 wing nuts
4 M4x25mm PH2 wall screws
What you will need
A smartphone or laptop
A #2 Phillips screwdriver or power drill with a #2 Phillips driver bit
1/4 inch (6.5mm) drill bit for wall anchors
1/8 inch (3mm) drill bit for pilot holes
A shielded Cat5 or Cat6 ethernet cable with a .2–.25" outside diameter (5–6.5mm)
Connect the sensor
Use the provided T10 security Torx screwdriver to loosen the screws and lift the cover.
Insert the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port.
Scan the QR code for easy sensor registration and setup, or proceed to www.verkada.com/start.
Use the provided mounting template to mark wall-mount holes.
Junction box mount
Use the mounting template to determine the correct hole pattern.
Ceiling—8 ft (2.4m) above the ground. Avoid windows, vents, and other sources of accelerated air circulation.
Sidewall—However, this can lead to degraded temperature and air quality performance.
The maximum detection range for air quality is 6–8 ft (1.8–2.4m) from the sensor.
Remove the mounting plate
Loosen the screws and twist the sensor housing counter-clockwise. Lift the sensor housing vertically off the base plate and set it aside.
Solid wall material like wood or metal
Drill 1/8-inch (3mm) pilot holes.
Drive mounting screws directly into the pilot holes.
Drill 1/4-inch (6.5mm) holes.
Insert plastic anchors into holes and drive mounting screws into anchors.
Press included screws through the drop ceiling tile.
Secure on the reverse side using the included washers and wing nuts.
Secure the sensor housing
Place it over the mount plate screws and twist counter-clockwise.
Tighten the mount plate screws with a Phillips head screwdriver.
Plug in the sensor
The status LED turns orange to indicate the sensor has power.
The LED turns blue to indicate the sensor is active.
Secure the sensor
Gently pull the cable through the through-hole so it has some slack, but does not interfere with the top cover.
Secure the sensor: Align the top-shell security holes with the baseplate and place the top shell back into its original position.
Tighten the security screws using the provided T10 security Torx screwdriver.
Remove the protective film.
