Learn how to share a camera history with archives using a browser or mobile app

You can share recorded history once it has been archived. Once archived, you can share by SMS, email, or a URL (through your browser or mobile app).

Share archives (via browser)

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. On the left navigation, click Archives.

  3. Select any archive, then click Share.

Share via SMS and email

  1. Enter a phone number, email address, or contact name.

  2. (Optional) You can add as many additional recipients as you need.

  3. Click Access to view and download video or Access to view archived video only to grant the recipient access to the link. See note below.

  4. Set when the Link expires. By default, this is set to one (1) hour.

  5. Click Send Link to send a link to the camera.

Share via direct link

  3. At the bottom left, click More options > Copy Link.

  4. You can now share the link.

Granting download video access lets the recipient download an .mp4 of the archive.

Manage links (via browser)

If you need to change the settings of an existing link share, use the Manage Links option (located at the bottom left).

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Admin.

  2. On Org Settings, click Manage Links to manage all the share links and embeds in your organization.

  3. Choose SMS, Email, or Link. Learn more about SMS, link, or embed options.


Share archives (via Verkada mobile app)

  1. Open the Verkada mobile app.

  2. Go to Cameras > Archives.

  3. Tap the archive you want to share.

  4. Tap Share below the clip and follow the steps.

Share via contacts

  1. Tap Verkada Contacts.

  2. Add a contact and select all contacts you want to share with.

  3. (Optional) Tap Link Expires in.

  4. Click Access to view and download video or Access to view archived video only to grant the recipient access to the link. See note below.

  5. Tap Send.

Share via direct link

  1. Tap Shareable Link.

  2. (Optional) Tap Link Expires in.

  3. Click Access to view and download video or Access to view archived video only to grant the recipient access to the link. See note below.

  4. Tap Send link to to copy the link or send it to a recipient in your phone's contact list.

Granting all video and features access lets the recipient view historical footage, conduct motion searches, search for people and vehicles in frame, and view camera statistics and settings.
