# Add Cameras to a Multicamera View

You can use the multicamera playback feature to:

* View historical footage from multiple cameras simultaneously.
* Add up to 12 cameras to a grid formation and view the footage side-by-side.
* Track a person across multiple camera angles and review their actions in each frame, rather than switching tabs to view footage one camera at a time.

## Configure Maximum History Videos

**In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.**

**In the left navigation, click Camera Settings.**

**Next to Maximum History Videos, select the dropdown and select the number you want as the maximum**

You can set the maximum between 1 and 12.&#x20;

**In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.**

**Select a camera and click History.**
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Select the segment of footage you want to view.**

**In the bottom right, click** <img src="/files/sqloV9uHlhtp925YBaXm" alt="" data-size="original">.

1. Select the cameras to add to the view.
2. Click **Done.**

**(Optional  Click Archive to archive all of the cameras’ feeds.**

* Click <i class="fa-camera">:camera:</i> to take a snapshot of the camera views.
* Click <i class="fa-scissors">:scissors:</i> to [archive](/verkada-cameras/video-streaming-and-sharing/view-historical-footage/archive-recorded-video-footage.md#multiple-cameras) the camera views.&#x20;

If you add cameras or increase playback speed, bandwidth consumption on the camera’s network increases linearly.
