Verkada CR63-E Remote Camera FAQs

This FAQ answers questions about the CR63-E camera and compares it to standard bullet cameras, cellular gateways, and the MT81 security trailer. It helps you choose the best deployment option based on power availability, camera count, and overall cost efficiency.

Choose the right solution

chevron-rightWhen would I use a CR63-E instead of a standard bullet camera?hashtag

The CR63-E is optimized for deployments where continuous power and internet are not readily available. If the camera is being deployed in a location where both power and internet are readily available, a standard bullet camera will deliver identical results at a lower cost.

chevron-rightWhen would I use a CR63-E instead of deploying a cellular gateway with Verkada cameras?hashtag

The CR63-E is optimized for single-camera deployments where continuous power is not readily available. If continuous power is available and there is a need to deploy multiple cameras, a cellular gateway paired with standard Verkada cameras will deliver identical results at a lower cost.

chevron-rightWhen would I use a CR63-E instead of a MT81 security trailer?hashtag

The CR63-E is ideal for single-camera or more discreet deployments. The MT81 security trailer allows you to deploy multiple Verkada cameras in a single place and provides powerful deterrence with its visibility and optional addition of a horn speaker.

chevron-rightHow many cameras can the ACC-POLE-1 support?hashtag

For the ACC-POLE-1 setup, we recommend using only one complete CR63-E camera package. This setup includes:

  • 1 x CR63-E camera

  • 1 x ACC-MNT-SOLP-1 mount

  • 1 x ACC-SOLP-100W-1 solar panel

  • Up to 2 x ACC-BAT-430WH-E-1 batteries

chevron-rightWhat is the point of the visor?hashtag

The included adjustable visor helps reduce sun reflections on the camera lens.

chevron-rightCan I bring my own solar panel mount?hashtag

Verkada's solar panel mount can accommodate the solar panel and up to two external batteries. You can also opt for a different solar panel mount if it better fits your requirements.

chevron-rightHow do I install the pole?hashtag

This is a direct burial pole designed for installation in the ground using concrete. Learn more here.arrow-up-right

chevron-rightCan I install the camera on a tree?hashtag

Our camera can be installed anywhere; however, we do not recommend installing it on trees. If necessary to install on trees or palms, consider adding padding and increasing the strap's surface area. Be aware of potential failures due to tree growth over time.

chevron-rightWhat pole size can the CR63-E mount to?hashtag

The CR63-E includes both small pole straps (for poles 1.9"-3.2" in diameter) and large pole straps (for poles 3.3"-6.0" in diameter). As long as the pole diameter falls within these ranges, no additional mounting hardware is needed. For larger poles, you may use banding straps to support the installation according to our installation guide.

chevron-rightIs the CR63-E's base mounting plate identical to the base mounting plate for bullet cameras?hashtag

Yes, the base mounting plate included with the CR63-E is identical to the base mounting plate included with Verkada bullet cameras.
