Enable Face Blur on Verkada Cameras
Blur faces for live and archived video
Verkada Command supports blurring all faces for live footage and blurring select faces in archived footage. Use this to protect the privacy of recorded individuals when monitoring your camera system.
Enable Live Face Blur
Live face blur detects and blurs face in the live video feed on grids and the individual camera page. This setting does not apply to recorded footage, so camera history will still show faces.
You can access and enable Live Face Blur via the live video feed for a single camera, grid, or through the global Cameras Settings page.
Live Face Blur at the camera and grid level are specific to the user that configures them. This choice does not enable Face Blur for any other users.
Live video feed - Camera page
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.
Select a camera.
To the right of the live video feed, click Live Face Blur .

Live video feed - Grids
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.
From the left navigation, select Grids .
In the bottom right of your grid, click Live Face Blur .

Camera Settings page
Organization Admins can enable Live Face Blur for all users and cameras within the organization with the Default Live Face Blur Setting.
Individual users can override this global setting for individual cameras or grids on a per-camera or per-grid basis. Any overridden settings will only show for the user who configured them, leaving other users with the Default Live Face Blur Setting experience.
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.
From the left navigation bar, click Cameras Settings.
On Cameras Settings, toggle on Default Live Face Blur Setting.

Considerations
CB52-E and TE and CB62-E and TE support live face blur when LPR (license plate recognition) mode is disabled.
This feature is only available on desktop.
This feature is not available for live links.
Live Face Blur does not affect saved footage.
Face Blur works independently of any other features, such as people analytics. Thus, faces can still be captured in historical footage and visible in the Motion, History, and People tabs of the camera's page.
Selective Face Blur for Archives
Selective Face Blur creates an archive with each face blurred except the faces you deselect. This is a great option to preserve the privacy of bystanders when you export the video of an event.
Face blur works best when:
There are only a few people in each frame.
People's faces are clearly visible - hats and masks tend to partially block faces, which can result in missed detections.
Create a Face Blur archive
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.
Select a camera to archive.
At the bottom of the camera footage, select Archive.
On the right, click Add Archive.
Toggle on Blur Faces.
Click All Faces to deselect any faces you do not wish to blur. Click on the image of a detected person in the right-side panel and click in the top right corner of the image to unblur that person in the archive.

Note: For optimal accuracy, you may see repeated individuals. Make your selections, click Done, and then Save to create the archive.
Two separate archives will be created: one with the blurred faces (auto-tagged with Blurred Faces) and the second with the original un-blurred video.
Considerations
The CB52-E and TE and CB62-E and TE only support selective face blur when LPR (license plate recognition) mode is disabled.
This feature is only available when creating archives on a desktop.
