License Plate of Interest Alerts
Learn how to configure License Plate of Interest (LPOI) alerts
Verkada’s License Plate of Interest (LPOI) feature allows you to define a list of license plates that will trigger an alert when detected.
To streamline and manage your License Plate of Interest (LPOI) list, you can:
Categorize and organize profiles using custom tags.
Quickly find POI profiles by searching tags.
Create custom tags for your POI profiles and then associate those profiles with those tags.
LPOI is configured on a per-organization basis. The LPOI list is shared among all users of the organization. Email and SMS notifications are configured on a per-user basis. When you enable SMS or email notifications, you will get notifications for all LPOIs in the organization.
You must be a Site Admin for at least one (1) site in your organization to create an LPOI event. See Roles and Permissions for Command for more information.
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.
On the left navigation, select Vehicles.
On the left, under License Plate Lists, select LPOI.
At the top, click .
On Add New License Plate to LPOI, select one of the following options:
Add License Plate Manually.
Enter a license plate number.
(Optional) Add a description.
Click Confirm.
Bulk Upload from CSV File.
Download the CSV Template.
Add your LPOIs to the template.
Drop the file or choose a file to upload.
You will receive an email after the file upload, denoting successful and failed uploads. You can download a CSV with errors to correct the failed uploads.
Select from Existing.
Search for or select the license plates from the list.
Click Confirm.
You can associate License Plate of Interest profiles with Person of Interest profiles. This makes it easier to review events when you investigate a specific person.
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.
On the left navigation, select People.
On the left, under People List, select People of Interest.
Select a person of interest.
a. On the left, next to License Plate, click . b. Search for or select a license plate to add it to the profile. c. Alternatively, if the plate is not already added to the Command, type the plate number into the search bar and click Create a License Plate of Interest.
Create Alert > Events
On the Command homepage, in the left navigation, click Alerts.
At the top, click New Alert.
On Select Event, choose Camera > License Plate of Interest.
On Cameras:
a. Choose to receive alerts from All Cameras, Sites, or Individual Cameras. b. Click Done to continue.
On License Plate of Interest:
a. Select All, Specific License Plates, or License Plate Lists. b. Click Done and continue with the alert recipients.
Create Alert > Recipients
To prevent excessive notifications, users are limited to 500 SMS messages per day, per user.
On Recipients, add users individually or assign the alert to a group.
Select the dropdown menu next to a user or group to choose their notification method(s). Recipients can be notified via push, SMS, or email notifications.

(Optional) By default, you will be an alert recipient. Select the dropdown menu and click Delete to remove yourself.
Click Done and continue with the alert notification schedule.
Any recipient added to this alert will see it appear under the Shared Alerts section of their Alerts page.
Create Alert > Notification Schedule
On Notification Schedule, specify the days and times for the alerts to send notifications. Alerts generate 24/7 by default.

Click Done and continue with the alert notification.
Create Alert > Notification
Select the recipients for the alert. You can enter users, groups, or contacts.
Select the dropdown next to each recipient to choose their notification method(s).
Click Done and continue with the alert optional settings, or finish the alert.

Create Alert > Operations
Toggle on Route to Operations if you need to create a ticket from the alert.
(Optional) Select Ticket Instructions to add information to the ticket and click Done.
Click Done and continue to finish the alert.
Create Alert > Device Action
On Device Action, select the horn speaker(s) you want to play your message.
Select your notification preference (Text to Speech or Audio File).
a. For Text to Speech, enter a message up to 200 characters. b. For Audio File, drag and drop the file or click choose a file to upload your audio clip.

Click Done and continue to finish the alert.
Finish the alert
In the bottom right of the configuration window, click Next.
Enter a descriptive name for the alert.
Click Done to complete the setup.
