# Set up a Guest Tablet

The Guest tablet allows guests to easily check in by selecting a [Guest type](https://help.verkada.com/guest/~/revisions/I1ptDZOwuKDgR6roKONt/configuration-and-setup/configure-guest-types).

## Download the Guest app

**Download the** [**Verkada Guest app**](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/verkada-guest/id1584871857) **on an iPad running iOS 14 or newer.**

**Once installed, the Guest app displays a 6-character code. Save this code to add the tablet to Verkada Command.**

## Add your first Guest tablet

### From a new site

**In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Workplace > Guest.**

{% step %}
**Click Connect your tablet.**
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Enter the 6-character code from the tablet and click add this iPad.**

**You will be redirected to the Guest dashboard. On the left navigation, click Guest Settings > Sites > Tablets to view your tablet.**

### From an existing site

**In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Workplace > Guest.**

**On the left navigation, click Guest Settings.**
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**At the top, select Sites and use the dropdown to select your site.**

**Under Tablets > Add Tablet, enter the 6-character code from the tablet and click add this iPad.**

**The tablet will display on the site settings page.**

### Select a camera

The front or rear iPad camera can be used to scan visitors’ photo IDs.

**In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Workplace > Guest.**

**On the left navigation, click Guest Settings.**

{% step %}
**At the top, select Sites > your site.**
{% endstep %}

**Select Tablets > your tablet.**
{% endstep %}

**From the Photo ID Scan dropdown, select a camera.**
