# RSVP Links for Guest

Allow anyone to register for a Guest event

Guest events allow organizations to account for expected visitors ahead of time. RSVP links are an optional Guest events feature that allows anybody to register for an event. By following the RSVP link, event attendees will be taken to a web page where they will be required to complete event registration steps.

## Manage the RSVP link

RSVP links are generated when the event is created, and they are retrievable in the event details on the employee portal.

<div align="left" data-with-frame="true"><img src="https://1436127735-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZyuELZr7uIcXX3WnjX0N%2Fuploads%2FZvnuyoBnwZUZqKSdtBep%2F2.avif?alt=media&amp;token=e8812baf-f093-4d94-b962-ac8b63e1697c" alt=""></div>

Disabling the RSVP link toggle will expire the previous link, but visitors who registered via the RSVP link are not affected.

## Register for an event with an RSVP link

RSVP links are publicly addressable links that anyone can access. Prospective attendees will complete the required guest type steps as part of registration for an event through an RSVP link. The workflow for registering a visitor from an RSVP link is outlined below:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Visitor follows RSVP link and fills out form.**
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Security screening results and other denial reasons can be addressed on Command in the** [**Guest Events**](/guest/configuration/guest-events.md) **page.**
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Attendees can mark themselves as present from the link emailed to them, or can mark themselves as present on a Guest tablet. Separately, a Command user can sign in an event attendee on the day of the event.**
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.verkada.com/guest/configuration/guest-events/rsvp-links-for-guest.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
