Renewing your license
How to renew your Verkada License
Updated over a week ago

When your licenses are about to expire, you’ll need to renew your license in order to not lose access to Command. You can renew your license by contacting your Verkada Sales Representative or your Verkada Reseller.

How to renew your license

Once you have paid for new licenses, you’ll receive a new license key as part of your order email. The license key is claimed on the License Manager page.

Once you click Claim license, you’ll see the Claim License dialog window

Next, select how you would like to claim your license key. You have two options:

  • As an increase to licensed units: This increases your license cap, and allows you to manage more devices. Choose this option if you have added new devices to Command and need to increase your license cap. Since the licenses co-term, the renewal date will also change.

  • As a renewal: This moves your renewal date only, and does not change any license caps. Choose this option if you have renewed your licenses early, and want Command to automatically apply the new license key once the old key expires.

Since you are renewing your licenses, select As a renewal. Once you make your selection, you’ll see two sets of bar charts:

  • The table on the left shows your current state

  • The table on the right shows the new state once your current licenses expire and the new licenses take effect

To complete your license renewal, click Claim at the bottom right of the screen.

Renewal notifications and license expiration

30 days before expiry, you’ll receive an email notifying you that your licenses are about to expire. You’ll also see a banner in Command. If you haven’t renewed your license within 30 days after your expiration date, you’ll lose access to Command.
