When you are a part of multiple organizations, your user account is separate for each organization. This allows for more granular control of user accounts by the Organization Admins, such as requiring two-factor authentication. An organization's (org's) short name is used to specify the org you log in to. Once logged in, if you have verified your email, you can change between all organizations you are a part of. You can also use a Magic Link Login to log in to all of your password-only orgs at once.
Organization short name
If you are a part of 2 or more organizations, when you log in to Verkada Command, you need to specify the org's short name to indicate which org you are logging in to. This short name is a unique identifier for the org.
Find your short name via email
When you log in, if you don't know the short name, click Email me a list to request an email list, along with email verification links for each organization.
Find your short name while logged in
If you need to look up the short name of the organization you're logged in to, navigate to All Products > Admin > Org Settings > Organization Details.
Here, you can see the short name of the organization:
Change between orgs
At the top left, you can select an org name to see all of the orgs you are logged in to. Select any of the orgs listed to switch between them.
Unable to see all your orgs
You may find that not all of the organizations you belong to appear in the list when selecting the org name at the top left. This can happen when your email is not verified in each of the orgs.
To fix this, at the bottom left, select the org name. Check to see if your email has a green checkmark next to it. If you do not see this checkmark, verify your email.
