Different CF81-E View Modes
Updated over a week ago

The CF81-E supports three different view modes. You can change the view mode to best suit the needs of your install location.

Note: A user will need Site Admin permissions in order to change the camera's view mode.

Panoramic

The first view mode is Panoramic. With this mode, the camera will cover a 180° horizontal view.

Steps to Configure

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab of the camera

  2. Under General select Fisheye Mode

  3. Select Panoramic and Save

Changing the tilt of the Panoramic mode

Site Admins can update the tilt of the Panoramic view to optimize the fields of view to suit their needs. To start editing, click on Edit Tilt from the camera image setting menu.

Arrows will now appear on the tiles, confirming that the user is now in edit mode.

Clicking on the arrows changes the position of the tile. To confirm, or delete changes, use the buttons at the bottom of the screen.

Four-Way Split

The second mode is Four-Way Split. The Four-Way Split mode allows you to monitor four specific areas at the same time. This view mode is particularly well suited to monitor an outdoor corner, a hallway intersection, or to replace multiple cameras with a single one.

Steps to Configure

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab of the camera

  2. Under General select Fisheye Mode

  3. Select Four-Way Split and Save

Changing angles of the Four-Way Split mode

Site Admins can update the angles in the Four-Way Split to optimize the fields of view to suit their needs. To start editing the angles of the four tiles, click on Edit Panel View from the camera image setting menu.

Arrows will now appear on the tiles, confirming that the user is now in edit mode.

Clicking on the arrows changes the position of the tile. To confirm, or delete changes, use the buttons at the bottom of the Four-Way-Split screen.

If the user points one of the tiles outside of the field of view of the physical camera lense, the image will look distorted.

Point the tile in the opposite direction to restore image quality.

Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ)

The third mode is Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) and it is configurable. In Pan-Tilt-Zoom you can decide to show the video feed either as a 360° view, as a tiles view with different angles, or explore the video with your digital PTZ functionality.

Steps to Configure

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab of the camera

  2. Select the Fisheye Mode

  3. Select Pan/Tilt/Zoom and Next

  4. If you wish to use any of the Tile views, check the relevant boxes.

  5. Select the default view and Save.

Once you have changed the camera to the PTZ mode you will need to set the Mount Location to enable the correct controls for the digital PTZ.

Steps to Configure

  1. Navigate to the Info tab of the camera

  2. Select Mount Location

  3. Select either Mounted to Wall or Mounted on Ceiling depending on where the camera is mounted

Once configured, you can select the PTZ view mode under the bottom-most icon of the right-side menu bar of the camera feed.

Changing angles of the tile view modes

To explore the video feed with PTZ, you can use your mouse to click and drag the image as well as the scroll wheel for zooming in and out.

On any tile view, you can move the angle of each tile. To do so click on the desired tile that will be modified or click the icon at the bottom of the tile. The tile will expand and occupy the video feed space. Here you can modify the angle by exploring the video as you would with PTZ.

Once the desired angle is configured you can exit this view by clicking on the icon at the bottom center of the tile.

Additionally, users with Site Admin permissions can configure the default angle of each tile by editing Home Positions. Home Positions can be edited in tile view modes and the EPTZ view mode.

Note: The Panoramic and Four-Way Split modes support our people analytics and crowd notifications features but the PTZ mode does not.
