Privacy Regions

Privacy regions allow you to block out part of the camera's field of view

Updated over a week ago

Privacy regions allow you to configure portions of a camera's view to be blocked out. Areas blocked by a privacy region will be blocked out on the camera's live feed and in historical footage. Learn more about privacy regions.

Note: You must have Site Admin permissions to configure privacy regions for a camera.

Create a privacy region

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. Select the camera you want to configure.

  3. Beneath and to the right of the camera footage, click the Settings (gear) icon.

  4. On the left panel, select the Privacy tab > Mark Privacy Regions.

  5. When the grid opens:

    1. Click and drag the area you want to mark as your privacy region. You should see a black box drawn over the area.

    2. Click Done. You are prompted that the changes are submitted and the camera may take time to update.

Delete a privacy region

    1. For each configured privacy region, click the X to delete.

    2. Click Done. You are prompted that the changes are submitted and the camera may take time to update.

    3. The changes save automatically. Once the camera updates (typically under 1 minute), you can expect your live feed to contain the privacy regions.

Privacy regions are not retroactive. The camera can take 1 to 2 minutes to update its configuration, after which you will see the privacy region on the camera's live feed and associated historical video going forward.

Note: The D80 does not support privacy regions.
