Suspend and Delete Access Users

Temporarily or permanently remove a user's access control permissions

Updated over 3 months ago

If a user no longer needs access to your organization for security reasons you will want to remove their access from your buildings. There are two ways to accomplish this:

  • Suspending a user: You can suspend a user if they will temporarily no longer need access to the doors in your organization. Once they need to regain access you can grant them permissions again with one click.

  • Deleting a user: This will permanently remove the user from your organization.

Suspend access users

Suspending an access user will revoke their permissions to log in to the Pass app and badge into doors. They will still be able to log in to Command if they have access to other Verkada devices. To revoke Command access see Manage Users in Your Org Account.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Access.

  2. On the left navigation, click Access Users and Groups .

  3. Search for the user you want to suspend.

  4. Select the user's name, then click Profile.

  5. Click Suspend Access.

  6. When prompted, select Suspend to confirm.

View suspended users

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Access.

  2. On the left navigation, click Access Users and Groups .

  3. Select Suspended to view all suspended users.

Reactivate access user permissions

Deactivated users cannot have their access granted. Reactivate the user first to grant them access.

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Access.

  2. On the left navigation, click Access Users and Groups .

  3. Search for the user you want to reactivate.

  4. Select the user's name, then click Profile.

  5. Remove the end date to grant permissions to the user

Delete Access Users

You must be an Org Admin in order to delete an access user. Learn more about Roles and Permissions for Access Control.

  2. On the left navigation, click Access Users and Groups .

  3. Check the box next to the user account(s) you would like to delete.

  4. In the top right, select Delete .

  5. When prompted, select Delete to confirm.
