You can import a CSV file to quickly and easily bulk configure or update users at one time.

Requirements

  • You must be logged in with a user account with Access Admin privileges to create Access users.

Process

Select Manage on the Access Users page of your Command Organization then select Import Users.

Select Download to download the CSV template as a base for your import file.

To finalize the import select the CSV File or drag and drop the file into the box.

Once uploaded it will show any errors or warnings regarding the upload of the file. These will need to be fixed before the import. Once done click the Begin Import button.

Make sure to set the following:

  • Select the Timezone for your user import

  • Check the box if you'd like to overwrite your existing users (useful for bulk updating existing users)

Overwrite existing users

  • When this option is checked, any existing users that have matching emails with the CSV import will be updated. Users without email addresses will not be considered in the overwrite. This will remove any cards that the user currently has.

Required Fields in CSV

Certain fields are required to be filled out in the CSV for it to properly import without any errors. It is recommended to assign the user to at least one group as well.

  • First name

  • Last name

For Card Number Import:

If you are looking to add user card details then you will need to have the following fields set:

  • Card Format

  • Facility code (if need by card format)

  • Card Number

Note: If the card format is Mifare or DESFire then you will need to add a cardNumberHex column after the cardNumber column.

Other fields are explained for what needs to be inputed below the import CSV box

Note: Each user can only have one card set for import.

For access-group assignment

If you want to assign users to Access Groups on import then the groups need to be created beforehand.

Here's an example CSV file to reference the required format. Please take note of the required format for your .csv in order for it to be recognized by Command (You cannot add or remove columns from the CSV template's header).
