Live links are publicly-accessible, but time-restricted web addresses that allow Site Admins to share a camera's live feed and historical video with others.  Live links expire after a configured duration, but can be revoked at any time.  Anyone who is given the live link may use it to view the associated camera's live feed and historical video. The viewer does not have to be signed in or belong to the Organization. Live links offer Site Admins a quick and effective method to share cameras with others, like law enforcement, without having to worry about invites, permissions, and passwords.

Live links can be shared by SMS or by simply generating the link and distributing it manually. Using the Verkada mobile app or website means that live links can be generated and shared from anywhere in the world.

This article details the steps to sharing live links from iOS and Android devices, both using the Verkada app and mobile website (command.verkada.com).

Verkada Mobile App (iOS/Android)

When viewing a camera, tap on the share icon:

Select 'Share by SMS' or 'Share by link':

When 'Share by SMS' is selected, you are given the option to configure a recipient name (makes revoking the live link easier), enter the recipient's phone number (where the live link will be sent), and set the live link expiration (between 1 hour and 99 months):

This is what the recipient of an SMS live link sees:

When 'Share by link' is selected, you are only asked to enter the recipient's name and the expiration of the live link.  When you tap 'Create', a share sheet will appear, prompting you to select a means of sharing the live link (email, copy to clipboard, etc.):

The iOS share sheet looks like this:

The Android share sheet looks like this:

Mobile Website (command.verkada.com)

When viewing a camera, tap on the share icon:

The first tab allows you to share the live link through SMS and the 'By link' tab allows you to generate and share the live link manually.  You are given the option to configure a recipient name (makes revoking the live link easier), enter the recipient's phone number (where the live link will be sent), and set the live link expiration (when the live link will no longer work).  Select 'Manage links' to see a list of all current live links and prematurely expire any links that should no longer be active:

Tap Manage links to see a list of all active and expired live links for the camera.  Each link can be copied to the clipboard or manually expired:

Please note: Live links can currently only be managed using the Verkada Command website (command.verkada.com) and not using the mobile app
