People and Vehicle Counting uses advanced computer vision functionality to identify people and vehicles within the camera frame. This allows users to highlight areas of interest and quickly find relevant events within a timeline.

People and Vehicle Counting identifies number of people or vehicles that appear within the frame. This can be used to determine the volume of human or vehicle traffic at any given time. People and Vehicle Counting can be performed by users with Admin or Viewer permission.

  1. Click on a camera you'd like to search.
  2. Make sure History is selected.
  3. (Optional) Use the History menu to go directly to thumbnails during a certain date and time. The default begins the thumbnail from last hour.
  4. (Optional) Use the History menu to choose the duration of thumbnails. The default is 1 hour.
  5. Rub your cursor over any thumbnail and move through the footage, a motion bar will now appear in on the bottom giving you the count of People and/or Vehicles at any given time in the frame.
  6. (Optional) Click the motion bar to be taken to the exact time in the recorded footage.

View people and vehicle count search

People and Vehicle Counting searches return thumbnails where people and/or vehicles have been identified in a specific region of interest within the frame. This makes it easy to filter for relevant events. Searches can be performed by users with Admin or Viewer permission. 

  1. Click on a camera you'd like to search.
  2. Click and drag your cursor across the region of interest you’d like to search.
  3. (Optional) Select additional regions of interest by holding down the shift key. 
  4. Command will return all clips where activity was detected.
  5. Use the Filter to search for People and/or Vehicles.
  6. (Optional) Use the Motion Search History menu to select the motion sensitivity. The default is High.
  7. (Optional) Use the Motion Search History menu to select a Date Range for the results.
  8. Rub your cursor over any thumbnail and move through the footage, a motion bar will now appear in on the bottom giving you the count of People and/or Vehicles at any given time in the frame.
  9. (Optional) Click the motion bar to be taken to the exact time in the recorded footage.

Note: People and/or vehicles will only be available if these objects were ever detected in the camera frame.
