# Access Point Mode on the GW31-E

The GW31-E Outdoor Wi-Fi Gateway makes it simple to deploy Verkada anywhere with power and Wi-Fi, including hard-to-wire locations such as parking lots, fence lines, and outdoor premises.

Using the GW31-E in Access Point mode turns the deployment into an all-in-one solution. It removes the need for external procurement, simplifies installation, and lets customers manage the entire connectivity stack from a single pane of glass.

You need [Org Admin](/command/users-and-permissions/roles-and-permissions-for-command.md) permissions to activate and configure a gateway.
