Command Connector Resource Allocation
Command Connector includes on-device processing power that enables advanced features on individual channels. Because these features require varying levels of compute resources, users can choose which features to enable on specific channels based on their organization’s needs.
Advanced features and resource requirements
Each Command Connector supports a maximum of 100 resource points shared across all connected channels. Only one advanced feature can be enabled per channel at a time. The table below lists the advanced features and the number of resource points each uses per channel.
RTSP channel
5
Channel connected via RTSP
Advanced Analytics
10
Enables trajectory analysis for people and vehicles, including line crossing, loitering detection, occupancy trends, and related analytics
Camera Rotation

Resource point values may change. Confirm the current allocation in Command or with your Verkada representative.
Configuration
Resource allocation
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Devices.
Select your Command Connector.
Open the Resource Allocation page.
The dial at the top shows total resource points in use. Color-coded bars show how points are distributed across each advanced feature type.
Many RTSP-capable channels also support ONVIF Profile S. When possible, verify ONVIF Profile S compatibility and add cameras using that standard to reduce resource usage. See Add a non-Verkada camera to a Command Connector for adding cameras.
RTSP streams are configured when a channel is first added. Resource usage for RTSP appears on the Resource Allocation page, but you cannot add or remove RTSP channels from this view. To free points used by an RTSP stream, remove the RTSP channel itself.
Advanced analytics
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Devices.
Select your Command Connector.
Open the Resource Allocation page and locate the desired channel.
Toggle the checkbox in the Advanced Analytics column.
Click Done to save your resource allocation changes.
Advanced analytics are not supported on Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) or fisheye cameras.
Camera rotation
In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Devices.
Select your Command Connector.
Open the Resource Allocation page and locate the desired channel.
Click the edit icon in the Camera Rotation column.
Rotate the feed as needed.
Click Done to save.
Click Done to save your resource allocation changes.
Rotating a channel feed in Command uses transcoding and consumes significant processing power. To save resources, rotate the feed in the camera's native interface or reinstall the device in the desired orientation. To rotate in Command, see Change a non-Verkada Channel Orientation.
For more options, see Change a non-Verkada Channel Orientation.
FAQ
What happens if I am over the resource point limit?
Existing Command Connector deployments may currently exceed the 100-point limit. The device continues to work as configured in the short term, but we recommend working with your Solutions Engineer to reduce resource usage for reliable long-term performance.
